  8. Resolution 20-92 authorize refund of $225.00 to LD pertaining to the rental of Community Center

The regular meeting of the Chesilhurst Borough Council

March 12th, 2020 – 7:00 p.m.
  1. The regular meeting of the Chesilhurst Borough council was opened by
    Council President Marrone with the pledge of allegiance followed by the
    sunshine statement. Present were council members Alwan, Holmes, and
    Parks. Also present Michael J. Watson, Associate sitting in for the Solicitor. Absent: Mayor Odom-Garnett, Hirn, and Littles.
  2. On motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) the rrJnutes of February 13, 2020 were approved as written
  3. Council committee reports (suspended)
  4. On motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) the meeting was opened to the public – There were no comments from the public
  5. On motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) the meeting was closed to the public
  6. Reports: the following reports were accepted and directed to be filed Borough clerk -total amount collected $1,200.00
    Tax/Sewer Depts. – (Jan) total amount collected $193,447.45
    Tax/Sewer Depts. – (Feb) total amount collected $481,490.87
    Court Adm. (Feb). total amount collected $4,921.08
    disbursed to Camden County Treasurer $1,061.00
    amount disbursed to Borough $2,357.90
    Bach Associates submitted their engineer’s status report for March 2020
  7. On motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) the meeting was to the public on Ordinance 2020-1 – There were no comments from the public
  8. On motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) the meeting was closed to the public on Ordinance 2020-1
  9. Ordinance 2020-1 on motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried
    ( 4ayes) Ordinance to exceed the municipal budget appropriation limits and to establish a Cap Bank is hereby approved on second and final reading on March 12, 2020
  10. On motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) the meeting
    was opened to the public on Ordinance 2020-2 – There were no comments from the public

  12. Ordinance 2020-2 on motion Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) An Ordinance fixing the compensation of Officers, and Employees of the Borough of Chesilhurst, County of Camden, State of NJ is hereby approved on second and final reading on March 12,2020
  13. Resolution 20-82 on motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks, and carried (4 ayes) it is hereby approved to schedule Chesilhurst Day to be held on June 6th at the Leanna Harris Park
  14. Resolution 20-83 on motion by Parks, seconded by Alwan and carried (4 ayes) it is hereby approved to authorize exercise of six month option pursuant to Bid A- 41/2019 for copy paper, computer paper and envelopes
  15. Resolution 20-84 on motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4ayes) it is hereby approved to authorize application to be filed with the Camden County Open Space/Farmland Preservation Division (challenge park)
  16. Resolution 20-85 on motion by AI wan, seconded by Parks and carried ( 4 ayes) it is hereby approved to authorize professional services agreement for ma:ter of County Camden V. Borough of C, with Laurence E. Rosoff, Esq.
  17. Resolution 20-86 on motion by Parks, seconded by Alwan and carried (4 ayes) it is hereby approved to schedule the rabies clinic on April 25th commencing 1:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m. at the Chesilhurst Fire Hall
  18. Resolution 20-87 on motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) the change fund for the rabies clinic in the amount of $50.00 is hereby approved
  19. Resolution 20-88 on motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) It is hereby approved to authorize refund of $75.00 to Kenneth Smith for the return of cleaning escrow fee pertaining to the rental of the Community Center
  20. Council woman Alwan announced Chesilhurst Day will be held June 6th, 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. rain or shine. Food vendors must have a food certificate, if you are going to sell food. Vendor application went up to $50.00. We are going to have a car show, 3 on 3 tournament, local talent, entertainment, music, etc. Come om and support your community.
    It is very important to fill out the 2020 census for the government to appropriate State and Federal funding. Census Day is April 1st.
    The Coronavirus there are going to be a lot of changes as the authorities are learning about the virus. To keep up to date with the latest information. You can visit the official site nj.gov/health and www.cdc.gov. Primarily washing your hands, cough in your elbow, avoid touching your face, mouth, and eyes. Take care of your family.
    Council woman Parks – the Chesilhurst Drug Alliance was going to hold an
    Older Americans Health and Family luncheon to be held on March 21st. In lieu of the coronavirus it has been postpone and no further date has been set.
  21. On motion by Alwan, seconded by Parks and carried (4 ayes) the bills were
    approved for payment.
    The Borough Council will act upon or discuss any other matters or resolutions necessary to carry out Borough business.
  22. On motion by Parks, seconded by Alwan and carried (4 ayes) the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
